Lockdown nights: Eerie night scenes in a deserted Wigan town centre as Tier 3 continues

Standishgate and Market Place are usually busy thoroughfares at this time of year with human traffic from pubs, restaurants and Christmas shoppers, but the streets are currently deserted.

The calm before Christmas made for a strange sight this week as lockdown restrictions are about to be lifted to make way for new Tier 3 restrictions.
