RICKY Whittle is loving his time in the States.

The former Hollyoaks actor left his home in Billinge to pursue a career in America and so far he has done well.

He has already played a small role in Austenland and recently appeared on our TV screens in E4 apocalyptic drama The 100.

He is also in series two of the US version of Mistresses, which will be coming to the UK next month.

And he is reported to be dating Bruce Willis’ daughter, Rumer.

Ricky, who once dated Billinge actress Carley Stenson, said: “I have been living in California for more than three years now and I’m loving every minute.

“It really is an incredible place. I’ve had to start all over again from scratch but I’ve been very fortunate to get several roles out here.”

The 32-year-old is famed for his strict fitness routine and bounding muscles.

He added: “I’ve actually had to up my game since moving to the States; everyone is in great shape so I felt I needed to focus more on healthy living - I haven’t touched alcohol for 16 months.

“I go hiking up a mountain every morning.”

Meanwhile, another former Hollyoaks star is also getting in shape and is about to become a personal trainer.

Sarah Jayne Dunn, who hails from Leigh, revealed to fans on Twitter: “My newest venture and exciting new project is training up with @_cmcacademy to become a personal trainer. So excited to learn another new skill.”

CMC Academy confirmed the news by adding: “Welcome to our new student @sarahjaynedunn. Good Luck in becoming #personaltrainers #fitfam #fitness. Enjoy learning! #CMC.”

The 32-year-old has been busy working in between acting jobs.

She has turned her hand at comedy, filming a sketch for Bloody Comedy on YouTube with Oliver Powell and Emily Chase.

She has also joined forces with fellow ex-Hollyoaks friend Matt Littler, who played Max Cunningham, to star in a music video with MOBO award winner Esco Williams, via SoundCloud.

The actress is keen to support Matt, who played Max Cunningham in the channel 4 soap, on another of his projects - a short film called The Prepper. She has tweeted for people to vote for it by visiting
