120mph teen stopped by stinger
A teenager led police on a high speed chase along a motorway in a high-powered Mercedes he had stolen.
Thomas Hall had taken the expensive motor after burgling the room of a guest at a Blackpool hotel and stealing his car keys, Blackpool Magistrates heard. The teenager was then pursued by police along Seasiders Way and the M55 at speeds of more than 120mph and only stopped by a stinger.
Hall, 18, of Gibson Street, Bickershaw, Wigan, pleaded guilty to burgling the Norbreck Castle Hotel, the aggravated taking of a Mercedes C220, dangerous driving and having no insurance. Police had to use a stinger to stop the Mercedes. Hall was remanded in custody to appear at Preston Crown Court on March 11 for sentence.
