A BUSTLING butchers, a popular boutique and a convenient cleaners can all be found close to each other on Carr Lane in Hawkley Hall.
And all three of our businesses featured this week have been open for years and have well established customer bases.
This has earned them the benefit of knowing their regulars extremely well, forming friendly relationships with everybody who steps through their doors.
Carr Lane Foods is a butchers that opened more than a decade ago.
They cater to their customers’ every food cravings by offering a range of ready cooked meals such as hot pots.
Owner Frank Hill said: “We do well with our sandwiches, especially the Cajun chicken, they’re big sellers.”
They also offer a wide range of options to put on a hot baguette; chilli, curry, BBQ beef and flavoured chicken.
After just experiencing there busiest Christmas yet, the butchers have plenty of offers to keep their customers smiling throughout the month of January.
Frank added: “We have special offers on the fillet steak and rib-eyes.
“The sirloin steak packs are what we do best. They’re our speciality.”
Carr Lane Foods also provide buffets for events and usually find themselves booked for two to three functions a week, due to the generous price of £4.75 per head.
Dawn’s Hair Boutique has been open for an impressive six-and-a-half years.
There you can chill out as you have your hair cut or coloured, then relax while having a facial and your nails painted.
Owner Dawn Brady explained that there will be some offers available for her customers next month, she said: “There will be an offer on colouring and perms, which will be from £30.”
Perfecta Cleaners is one of the handiest businesses around.
Susan Haidari and Sheila Scott have worked there for more than 24 years and say that they do the job that others don’t want to do.
They added: “Most people have washers now, so ironing, they don’t want to do. We have everyone in here, from judges, teachers and solicitors, they all have their suits expertly ironed by us.”
The business is well known locally and they know their customers very well, Susan added.
