A GROOM who died on his stag do after being pulled from the water at Liverpool’s Albert Dock has been named as Dale Joint.
The 24-year-old, from Leigh, is reported to have been celebrating with friends in the city on Saturday when he and two others got into trouble in the water at around 9.45pm.
Emergency services were called to the Salthouse Dock, close to a number of popular bars and restaurants, after concerned onlookers raised the alarm.
Firefighters rescued two men, reported to be in their early 20s, before finding Mr Joint after an extensive search of the area. He was taken to the Royal Liverpool University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
It has since been reported that the man was actually celebrating his stag party.
An investigation has now been launched by Merseyside Police who are appealing for witnesses. The condition of the other two men is unknown.
