ARMED robbers threatened customers and staff during a robbery at the Coop store in Norley Hall.

The two men involved entered the store on Norley Hall Avenue shortly after 9pm on Monday January 6th wearing dark tops and had masked their faces.

The robber threatened staff and customers with a knife and they both escaped with cash in the direction of Trent Road. Police believe they may have spoke to passers by before the incident.

DC Paul Catterall, based at Wigan, said: “These robbers clearly spent time watching the Co-op store so they could pick the best time to strike.

“Thankfully no staff or customers were hurt but you can imagine they were upset by their ordeal. I now want to hear from anyone who saw two men waiting or acting suspiciously around the area that evening.”

Anyone with information should call police on 0161 856 7124 or 0800 55 111.
