A MAN threatened staff at a late night store with a knife before stealing cash.

The man burst into Bargain Booze, in Wigan Road, Bryn, at 9.45pm on Wednesday and brandished the knife at terrified workers.

He is described as white, medium build, approximately 6ft in height wearing a blue bandana, light grey hooded top and black trainers with a white sole.

He stole money from the till and made off onto Priory Road.

Police are now appealing for more information to trace the offender.

Detective Constable Jon Quigley said: “I would appeal to anyone who may have been outside of the shop who witnessed the offender either walk in or walk out to contact police as soon as possible. If you know which way he went after heading towards Priory Road, I would ask you to call us.”
