A WIGAN woman accused of punching a fellow clubgoer in the face and breaking her nose has seen her case sent to Liverpool Crown Court.

Laura Gibson, 28, of Grasmere Avenue, Higher Ince, has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm. She made no indication of plea before magistrates yesterday.

Clare Sheldon was left nursing a broken nose after she was allegedly punched in the face as she left a Wigan nightclub on March 31.

A court heard how she also suffered a blood clot which had to be removed and her nose had to be re-set.

Justices sent the case to Liverpool Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on October 29. Gibson was granted unconditional bail until that date.
