Forget the Christmas turkey, the real feast in Wigan was held on Boxing Day.
After Wigan Athletic served up a superbly entertaining seven-goal spectacular in the afternoon, Wigan's inhabitants turned out looking like proper festive dishes.
The town's annual fancy dress celebrations were a sight for sore eyes, with thousands up for a cracking good night out.
And earlier in the day two Latics fans paying homage to cult star Pascal Chimbonda scooped the top prize in the club's annual fancy dress competition.
A belter of a Boxing Day was had by all in Wigan on Monday.
Firstly, Wigan Athletic came out on top in a blood and thunder seven-goal thriller with Manchester City – a result which harped back to December 26 matches of yesteryear.
Then, thousands of revellers turned out on to the streets for a fun-filled night of merry-making. In fancy dress, of course.
Several "ladies" were spotted out and about, as were Little Britain's other stars, Andy and Lou.
Cops and robbers were a major theme of the night, with plenty of saucy PCs ready to clobber some escaped convicts.
For one night only, ordinary men turned into superheroes and cartoon characters!
And, with the later licensing hours, the frolics continued into the early hours. At the JJB stadium, the traditional half-time competition was won by a "pair of Chimbondas", who then begged Latics chief executive Brenda Spencer for a contract, while a Rubik's Cube came second and an overgrown baby was third.
