Boy, 11, has phone stolen on walk home

A WIGAN schoolboy was robbed as he walked home with a friend past a bus stop in Lowton.

The victim was using his phone and crossed over the road onto Hesketh Meadow Lane.

Two boys - who had been sat at the bus stop - followed the pair and asked for the boy to get his phone out.

The offender, who was said to be in his mid-teens, grabbed the phone before slapping the victim in the face and running along Newton Road.

The offender is 5ft 7in tall, with short blonde hair and spoke with a local accent.
