WIGAN-born news presenter Kay Burley faces a TV watchdog after an interview with the Alton Towers boss.

The Sky News anchor was accused of intrusiveness and bullying when she grilled theme park chief executive officer Nick Varney over last week’s Smiler crash.

More than 1,000 complaints have been made to Ofcom.

But some viewers are calling for Ms Burley to be sacked.

In the June 3 interview, she pressed Mr Varney to reveal whether one of the victims had lost a leg.

He replied: “We are deeply sorry for the accident,” to which Ms Burley said: “I’m sure they are not interested in your sympathy.

“They have potentially lost a limb – you won’t tell us if they have or not.”
