Bus commute after death on train line

RAIL services from Wigan were disrupted after a fatality on the line.

Replacement bus services had to be put on between Wigan Wallgate and Bolton after the British Transport Police and Network Rail were called to Lostock Junction shortly after 6.15am today (Tuesday).

Commuters faced lengthy delays for around two hours while investigators worked at the scene.

Trains began running out of the borough again at around 8.10am and normal services had resumed by 9.30am.
