A LEADING Wigan car dealership has announced a staggering 25 per cent increase in new car sales.

The Chorley Group, on Pottery Road, has recorded 3,359 new Nissan registrations in the first 11 months of 2011, compared with 2,659 the previous year.

A remarkable performance, given one of the tough financial climate, but business development manager Adam Turner reckons things could get better still.

He said: “We have a particularly healthy order book into the first part of 2012, which is very pleasing indeed given the financial difficulties out there.

“The new car market nationally continues to have a tough time and anyone holding their own is considered a success, so we must be doing something right.

“People ask how we can buck the trend in this way, but I don’t think we have a secret formula other than to give customers the choice and value they demand.

“Our investment in staff training has certainly paid off and we also provide excellent support leaving customers confident in their decision to deal with us. Offering 24-hour test drives has been another big plus.”

Part of the sales bonanza at the Chorley Group, which also has branches in Preston, Chorley, Burnley and Blackpool - is a sharp rise in order for the Navara 4x4 model.

“This is proving a very popular vehicle right now,” added Adam. “We have taken 288 sales during the January to November period which is 161 per cent up year-on-year.”

The business is also expanding at its Wigan Pier site with the building of the Saddle Relief Road.
