LOCAL firms are being urged to take part in the inaugural Greater Manchester Workplace Games.
GreaterSport has launched the local event series which is aimed at giving companies the opportunity for staff to learn a new sport and take part in some friendly competition.
The 2013 Workplace Games featured teams from a wide variety of businesses from across the county including Diddibox Flowers, The Gate Films and Matrix Telematics.
Targeted at workplace teams the event gives colleagues the chance to socialise away from the work environment, enjoy the social atmosphere and network with likeminded organisations.
Events for the 2014 Greater Manchester Workplace Games feature a variety of inclusive sports available to men and women including dodgeball, softball and volleyball.
All sports are easy to learn, easy to play and lots of fun with on the spot coaching where necessary.
All competitions are non-contact and suitable for all abilities, from the absolute beginner to the expert player.
The competitions will take place across Greater Manchester, once a month throughout 2014.
Craig Anthony from GreaterSport said: “The aim of the GM Workplace Games is to get people trying new sports, meeting new people and having a good time.
“The sports we’ve worked with are really easy to learn and get involved.”
Focusing on providing a fun and friendly experience, teams are encouraged to bring friends and family along to enjoy the competitions.
