BUDDING publicans who dream of being their own boss and running a pub –including one in Wigan – have the opportunity to make it a reality when one of the UK’s leading community pub groups visits the region tomorrow.
Admiral Taverns is paying a visit to Westhoughton as part of a recruitment drive to unearth new talent to run its diverse selection of community pubs.
The open day at Admiral’s Rose and Crown on Bolton Road is set to provide a welcome boost for local employment as Admiral has several appealing pub opportunities across the North West. One is The Famous Pagefield in Springfield.
Anyone is welcome to come along on the day and find out more about being an Admiral Taverns licensee.
Previous experience of the pub trade isn’t necessary as the group has special training programmes devised to help new entrants hit the ground running in the pub trade.
Suzanne Smith, head of licensee recruitment and training at Admiral Taverns, said: “We are delighted to be visiting Westhoughton to meet potential publicans – we’re looking for driven, inspirational individuals that want the freedom and flexibility that comes with running their own pub business.
“They don’t need to have run a pub before, but they do need buckets of enthusiasm, an enterprising outlook and a hunger to succeed.
“This is a great opportunity for us at Admiral Taverns to meet some ambitious people and a chance for those that have always wanted to run their very own pub to come and talk to us, as we have lots of great pubs in the region.”
Admiral Taverns’ business development manager Tom Jones will be on hand during the day to talk guests through the pubs available, the type of agreements on offer and the life of an entrepreneurial pub licensee.
The open day is free to attend and runs from 11am and 5pm.
