Panto stars will help to switch on Christmas lights

PANTOMIME stars from a Manchester production are to help switch on Wigan’s Christmas lights tomorrow.

Some of the actors from Sinderfella which is on at the Dancehouse Theatre in Manchester, will be joining in the fun in the town centre.

The Sinderfella pantomime is a modern day twist to the classic fairytale Cinderalla, which is filled with comedy, audience participation and good old festive cheer.

The town’s Christmas Light Switch on event takes place from 4.30-7.30pm tomorrow in Market Place and includes X Factor 2011 finalists The Risk - the four piece boy band who were mentored by N-Dubz star Tulisa Contostavlos.

Along with pantomime stars from Sinderfella, Hacker T Dog from BBC Children’s TV show Hacker Time and a whole host of other acts and performers keeping the crowds entertained until 7.30pm.

One lucky youngster and six friends have the chance to have an exclusive audience with X Factor finalists The Risk after they have performed at the town’s Christmas Light Switch-on event this Thursday!

The winners will not only meet them in the flesh, they will have their photograph taken with the band, get their autographs and ask them your questions! To win a chance to meet The Risk after they switch on Wigan’s Christmas lights, simply e-mail telling us why you would like to meet The Risk!

The Santa and Reindeer parade takes place on Sunday 20 November, starting at 1pm from Mesnes Park arriving at Market Place at 1.30pm. The parade includes marching bands, costume characters and much, much more. Following the parade, Santa and his reindeers remain in Market Place along with the performers until 4.30pm.
