SMALL, independent companies across the borough could benefit from a new enterprise set up by a Wigan businessman.

Peter Batchelor, 43, of Atherton, is the owner of Website 365, a business designed specifically to aid smaller firms gain a presence on the internet.

He said: “I am working with a sector of the business community who don’t use the internet as they believe it is not suitable for them.

“Businesses such as landscape gardeners, plumbers, builders and driving instructors may not wish, or be able to sell their services on the web, but could still benefit from a small, simple website for this purpose.

“Even if a potential customer has seen your work, there is a good chance they will look up a more traditional business on the internet before contacting them, as it instills more confidence.

“Many of these businesses perceive a website to be an expensive luxury, but this is not the case.”

Peter, originally from Hampshire, but moved to Atherton last year, offers a range of basic website packages starting from £365 for the first 12 months and £80 each year after that.

He added; “Unlike many other companies offering inexpensive solutions, we tailor-make the website especially for the client and design it to look and act exactly how they want.

“That is a professionally designed and unique website from as little as £1 a day.”
