Pop along get help looking for new job

JOBSEEKERS are being given a helping hand onto the career ladder as over 100 jobs go up for grabs at a jobs and skills fair next week.

The fair has been organised by Wigan Council and will take place on Friday September 6 at Wigan Life Centre North.

Following last year’s successful fair, which saw hundreds of jobseekers attend, residents across the borough will have the opportunity to speak to employers and get support for their job searches.

More than 100 job vacancies will be on offer and a number of big name organisations have already confirmed their attendance on the day. They include: Debenhams; Northwest Aerospace – the largest aerospace organisation in Europe, and the British Heart Foundation – the UK’s number one heart charity. All of whom will be looking for talented and enthusiastic potential employees. A variety of activities, workshops and demonstrations will also take place, giving jobseekers a taste of new skills, including interactive sessions.

Representatives from Wigan Council and Wigan Job Centre Plus will be on hand to discuss job opportunities and provide support to help jobseekers boost their skills.

The jobs and skills fair is a free drop-in event and will take place between 9am and 1am. For more information, visit Wigan and Leigh Careers Facebook page at www.facebook.com/wiganandleighcareers.
