Car smashes into wall

A PIZZA delivery driver had to be cut free from his car after he crashed into a wall in Wigan.

The man, believed to be in his 20s, had collided with a Vauxhall Insignia and careered into the front garden wall of a property in Wigan Road, near St Benedict’s School, in Hindley, at 10pm on Friday, causing slight damage.

Fire crews from Wigan and Hindley released the man, who was delivering pizza, from his Ford Focus.

He was taken to Wigan Infirmary with suspected spinal complaints, but his injuries are not thought to be serious.

A 28-year-old woman who was in the other car received minor scratches and bruises.
