A CARE provider which runs several homes in Wigan has announced that it will now pay all its staff more than the living wage.
Ideal Carehomes, which runs Montrose Hall in Wigan and Ash Tree House in Hindley, has announced it will now pay all staff £7.50 a hour - a 15 per cent increase on Ideal’s current lowest wage.
Ideal wage will now pay its staff 30p more an hour than the national living wage.
Newly appointed chief executive Matt Lowe said: “The introduction of the living wage has given providers like us the opportunity to demonstrate our dedication to a quality care offer and recognition of how hard our staff work to create such great places to live.
“Offering an above living wage, never mind minimum wage, rise is a no brainer for us and puts us ahead of the curve in the sector.”
