A CHILDREN’S party has raised £3,000 for a severely disabled boy.
Charlie Townsend’s mum and dad, Gemma White and Shane Townsend, held the event to raise money to provide sensory equipment, a special bed and handling equipment to help make their one-year-old’s life a little easier. Charlie, from Astley, was born with West Syndrome: a severe form of epilepsy and is also partially sighted.
The fund-raising was further boosted with a £100 donation by law firm Stephensons Solicitors. Gemma’s friend Claire Mills is a paralegal there, and asked her bosses to help out.
Gemma said: “The day was fantastic and we have raised more than we expected.
“We are so grateful for the £100 given towards funds and want to thank everyone at Stephensons, as well as everyone else who attended the party and helped us to reach an incredible £3,000.”
