A WIGAN college has been burgled twice in three days.

Police today appealed for information to help trace the thieves who broke into Winstanley College on Sunday and Wednesday evenings to plunder electrical equipment.

Property which has the college’s stamp on, including laptops, computer base units, cameras and projectors, were stolen. Damage has also been caused to windows, doors and a vending machine.

The first break-in was between 6pm and 7pm on April 15, the second between 8.15pm and 9.10pm on April 18.

Community Beat Manager PC Martin Dickinson said: “Whoever is responsible has willingly and deliberately stolen items used to teach local pupils, and I want the community to work with us in identifying who is responsible.

“The items are branded with the school’s stamp, and I would ask people to be on the lookout for these items.

“Anyone found in possession of stolen goods could find themselves in very serious trouble, and it is quite simply not worth the risk.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the Pemberton Neighbourhood Policing Team, on 0161 856 7188, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
