The first Wigan choir festival to be held in decades has been declared a huge success - and organisers are already planning another one.
The event was hosted by Clowes Methodist Church, Enfield Street, Pemberton, and the £500 raised will go to the Mayor of Wigan’s charity, Derian House Children’s Hospice in Chorley.

The six vocal groups which took part were Hindley Churches Together Choir, Shine Gospel Choir, Wigan Community Choir, New Street Singers, Spectrum Choir and Celebration Choir.
Each performed four pieces of their own choice and received a diploma of participation signed by the Mayor, Coun Susan Greensmith.
Afterwards co-organiser Jean Denny said: “The Mayor, choirs and all who attended the choir festival had an entertaining night of music.
“Big thanks to everyone. We will do it again next year.”
