Gary Farrimond, 45 of no fixed address, helped launch a petition urging the Government to stop housing asylum-seekers at a Standish hotel. He was arrested in November and has now been re-bailed until February 17 pending further inquiries.

A MAN has denied kicking his partner in the face.

Paul Roberts pleaded not guilty at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates’ Court to one charge of assaulting Louise Marsh and causing her actual bodily harm at her home between January 29 and 30. The 33-year-old of Leigh Lane, Abram, was remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on February 29.

A 45-year-old woman has admitted three drug offences. Donna Winstanley, of Severn Road, Ashton, pleaded guilty to possessing amphetamine and cannabis with intent to supply.

She denied possessing cocaine with intent to supply but admitted possessing the drug. She was bailed until February 25 sentence at Liverpool Crown Court.

A MAN accused of indecently exposing himself in Wigan town centre was unfit to appear at court.

Warren Mullaney was due face Wigan magistrates on the exposure charge and one for criminal damage but was unable to attend. The 33-year-old of Windermere Road, Hindley, was arrested on December 9 over claims he exposed himself on Wallgate, then caused £100 damage to his police cell, including smearing excrement on the doors and walls. The hearing was adjourned to February 22.
