Appeal after car with specialised wheelchair inside is stolen in Wigan

Police are urgently asking for public help to find the vehicle and the equipment.

GMP Wigan West posted on social media that a Ford Edge was stolen from a drive in the Bryn area in the early hours of Friday morning.

Inside the car was the wheelchair belonging to the owner's disabled son.

Laura Jayne Mckuhen also posted on Facebook about the incident, saying the specialist wheelchair was in the boot.

She said she lives on Hale Grove and the thieves made off with the vehicle just after 4.10am.

Ms Mckuhen said it was a white Ford Edge with black alloys and an 18 registration plate.

Both posts contained urgent appeals for help finding the car and the wheelchair.
