The operation was in connection with two armed robberies in Walkden and Ramsbottom and an attempted robbery in Moss Side between September 2017 and April 2018.

DS Rick Castley of GMP’s Serious and Organised Crime Group said: “Crimes such as armed robberies can intimidate people in the community and make people feel unsafe in their homes and their workplace, and we simply will not tolerate it. “Our team are committed to exhausting every line of enquiry in order to catch individuals responsible for this type of criminality. “Six men are now in custody and I want to thank not only the officers involved in this investigation, but the support of the community also. I must stress our investigation does not stop here and we will continue with our enquiries until all those responsible are brought to justice.” Anyone with information should contact police on 101, or make a report anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
