Borough man, 60, convicted of double assault

A 60-year-old has been convicted of attacking two people.

Barry Yates, of Montreal Street, Leigh, had denied assaulting Inga Yates and Adrian Holland by beating on June 23 and July 16 respectively last year. But he was found guilty after a trial at Wigan Magistrates’ Court.

Yates must now complete a 29-day better relationships programme and 20 days of rehabilitation activities while paying £90 to victim services.
