A couple have appeared before Wigan and Leigh justices to deny they failed to prevent their daughter's truancy.

Keiron Monks and Katie Entwistle, both of The Avenue, Billinge, are accused of not ensuring the regular attendance at Up Holland High School of the named girl during the autumn term of this academic year.
When the charges were put to them in court, both pleaded not guilty.
The bench adjourned the case until a trial takes place which has been scheduled for July 12.
