Police have previously flagged up the benefit of public tip-offs generated by suspicions of cannabis farm activity.

Telltale signs include the distinctive strong smell of the plants, curtains that are rarely opened, houses which appear to have disproportionately heavy security and bright lights either on all the time or coming on at unusual hours.

Anyone with information about such activity elsewhere in the borough is urged to ring police on 101 or the freephone Crimestoppers line anonymously on 0800 555111.
