Drugs and £30,000 in cash seized as police raid Wigan property

More than £30,000 in cash and a "substantial" amout of drugs were uncovered when police raided a property in Wigan.

Officers from Worsley Mesnes neighbourhood policing team, along with the district tasking team, executed two search warrants issued under the Misuse of Drugs Act in Wigan on Thursday.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police's Wigan West team said: "At an address on Warrington Road, a substantial amount of a suspected class B controlled drug was seized, along with over £30,000 in cash, suspected to be proceeds of criminal activity.

"A male was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class B controlled drug and money laundering. He has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries."
