FIFTH person charged in Wigan murder probe after dad's death at Parish Church

Detectives investigating the death of a man outside Wigan Parish Church have charged a fifth person with murder.

Steven McMyler, 34, was fatally kicked in the head in the church gardens at around 7.50pm on Thursday, August 6.

Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, he could not be saved and a murder investigation was launched.

Today, 21-year-old Lewis Peake of James Street, Little Lever, Bolton, has been charged with joint-enterprise murder and conspiracy to rob.

He will appear at Wigan Magistrates' Court today (29 October 2020).

Two men and two teenagers have also previously charged with Steven's murder.
