Fourth charge in murder probe after dad dies outside Wigan Parish Church

Steven McMyler, 34, was fatally kicked in the head in the church gardens at around 7.50pm on Thursday, August 6.
Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, he could not be saved and a murder investigation was launched.

Hide AdIn the early hours of today, police arrested a 20-year-old man from Merseyside on suspicion of murder. Today, October 24, Michael Callam Wilson, of Northfield Close, Northwood, Kirkby, has been charged with joint-enterprise murder and robbery.
He will appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court later today.
Jordan Short, 19, of Rushkey Hey Road, Kirkby, and a 13-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons have both already been charged with murder. A 17-year-old boy from Merseyside was charged with joint-enterprise murder.
All three are due to appear at Manchester Crown Court on Monday, February 1.

Hide AdDet Insp Wes Knights, of Greater Manchester Police's major incident team, said: "Our thoughts remain with Steven's family and friends - we have been working around the clock to investigate the full circumstances surrounding his tragic death.
"I would like to thank the public for their co-operation in providing any information they have had to help our investigation and we have now been able to make a fourth arrest in relation to this incident."
