Judge to hear child sex abuse and animal porn charges

The case of Michael McLernon, of Flapper Fold Lane, Atherton, went before Wigan and Leigh Magistrates’ Court after he was charged with a total of seven offences, all of which are alleged to have happened in the autumn of last year.

They include getting a girl aged 13 to perform lewd acts, having overtly sexual communications with three girls under the age of 16 and the possession of sexual images involving a dog.

Because of the seriousness of the charges, the bench committed McLernon’s case to Bolton Crown Court where he will appear before a judge on December 16.

He was released on unconditional bail until then.
