Long ban for drink-driver three times over the limit

A motorist who was found to have drunk three times the legal alcohol limit before getting behind the wheel of his car has been disqualified from driving for almost four years.

Sean Morris, of Wigan Road, Leigh, stood before Wigan and Leigh magistrates to admit to drink-driving.

The hearing was told police stopped a Vauxhall Corsa on Atherleigh Way, Leigh, two days before Christmas last year and breath tested 37-year-old Morris.

The breath test found he had 105 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath.

The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

The bench imposed a 44-month ban from the road and ordered Morris to pay £180 in court costs and a victim services surcharge.
