A man has been accused of two counts of sexually assaulting a young schoolgirl.

John Peter Slater, 51, of Leigh Street in Wigan, was excused an appearance before borough magistrates due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
But the bench was told he has been charged with two counts of sexual penetration of a girl aged 13 on two different days in May 2018.
The case was adjourned until a further hearing at the same court scheduled for June 17.
