The 63-year-old of Stein Avenue, Lowton, admitted the charge under the Dangerous Dogs Act but pleaded not guilty to attacking Ms Khatir and to causing £40 damage to her iPhone 4 with intent.

The case was adjourned until July 4 when Picton will return to the same court to be tried over the assault and damage charge. He was released on unconditional bail.
