Man in his 40s found dead after police called to Wigan house

Witnesses described seeing police cars and forensic vans in Clifton Street at around lunchtime today (January 14).
Emergency services rushed to a property on the road at about 12.15pm.
A man in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hide AdThere are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death, according to Greater Manchester Police (GMP).
His next of kin has been informed.
A GMP spokesman said: "At around 12.15pm on Thursday, January 14, police received a report of concern for the welfare of a man on Clifton Street, Wigan.
"Emergency services attended and a man in his 40s was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
"There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death. His next of kin has been informed."

Hide AdClifton Street neighbour Karl Greenall said: "The first I knew of anything wrong was when at lunchtime three police cars turned up and a couple of paramedics.
"A little later two CSI vans arrived but they had all gone by late afternoon. I was also told that an ambulance was outside at one point but I didn't see that.
"I have no idea what has been going on."
