Man injured in Skelmersdale shooting

Police were called after reports a man had been shot in the leg in Carfield at about 12.35am today (July 23).

The 30-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries but not thought to be life-threatening

An investigation into the incident is now underway.

DI Jason Richardson from Skelmersdale CID appealed for anyone with information to get in touch

He said: "We understand that incidents like this are concerning for the community and so I would like to reassure people that we have a team of officers working on finding who was responsible.

“We will remain in the area speaking to people as part of our investigation and to reassure the community.
