Man in serious condition in hospital after stabbing

Police were called to Abbey Street in Leigh shortly before 11.10am on Monday.

The man, who is believed to be in his 30s, is now being treated for his injuries and is in a serious condition.

Police officers have put a cordon in place at the scene and an investigation is already under way.

The North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) confirmed it was called at 11.03am and the air ambulance also attended the scene but was not needed.
