Police cordon off multiple Wigan roads amid reports of shootings
A woman was shot twice in the back through her window in Redland Court, a cul-de-sac off Bolton Road, at 12.21am.
The street was completely sealed off following the shocking incident. Police say the 41-year-old victim did not suffer life threatening injuries, and is recovering in hospital.

Hide AdResidents also heard a "flurry" of gunshots in Vicarage Road, Abram, around the same time, before hearing a motorbike speeding off, shortly before 12.30am.
Police cars and vans have swarmed the residential street since the early hours of the morning. Forensics have been spotted combing Winstanley Road, off Lily Lane in Bryn Gates, which was also put on lockdown after a car crashed into a gate. Its occupants fled the scene.
One social media user said: "I swear I heard gun shots last night", adding: "Sounded like six shots or more one after the other. Didn't sound like fireworks."
Another person responded: "That’s what I heard I think it was about eight shots and then a motorbike sped off."
