An investigation is underway after fire gripped a house in Wigan earlier today.
Firefighters have confirmed that the occupants of a house in Manning Avenue, managed to flee the property.
But the cause of the blaze, which was reported to the emergency services at around 5am, is thought to be suspicious.
A fire service spokesman said that four breathing apparatus were used to check the building and two hosereel jets brought the first floor fire under control.
Specialist fire investigation officers remain at the scene.
And spokesman for Greater Manchester Police has confirmed that their officers have launched an inquiry.
More details of the blaze are expected to be released later.
