Sentencing of two men for a brutal attack has been delayed as they dispute exactly what they have admitted to.

Afeez Oderinda, 22, of Derwent Road, Hindley, and 27-year-old Wesley Thomasson, of Coop Street in Bolton, had been due to be sentenced by a Bolton Crown Court judge.

They had already pleaded guilty before Wigan and Leigh magistrates to causing Matthew Farrimond grievous bodily harm during an incident in Wigan on July 23 last year.

But there are still details of the case under dispute.

And so the case was adjourned until May 1 when both men will return to Bolton Crown Court for what is called a Newton hearing, after which they will learn their fates. Both were released on bail until then.
