Seven men due in court after police raids across Wigan

Seven men have been charged after police raided 18 properties across Wigan yesterday as part of an investigation into the supply of class A drugs.

The men are all accused of conspiracy to supply class A drugs and conspiracy to acquire, use or possess criminal property.

They are: Dean Smallwood, 41, of Landgate Lane, Ashton; Jamie Kenny, 31, of Ashwood Avenue, Abram; Leon Kenny, 30, of Warrington Road, Abram; Sam Causer, 31, of Egerton Street, Abram; Nathan Hart, 31, of Warrington Road, Abram; Lee Standen, 39, of Liverpool Road, Hindley; and Daryl Golding, 35, of Brookland Avenue, Hindley.

They were all remanded in custody and are due to appear at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' on Thursday.

Police officers raided 18 properties across the borough on Tuesday morning as part of an investigation by Greater Manchester Police's serious and organised crime unit.

As well as the seven men who have now been charged, three men were arrested and released under investigation pending further inquiries.
