A WIGAN man has escaped with a slash wound on his head after he was attacked with a knife in Berkshire.

The 21-year-old was viciously assaulted while visiting the Harput Kebab and Burger Shop in Oxford Road, West Reading, on June 3.

He was attacked by a man, who has since been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

The victim, who has not been named, was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital for treatment to a stab wound on the back of his head, but was later discharged.

A 33-year-old man has been questioned in connection with the incident and bailed to appear back at Loddon Valley police station on 5 July.
