Borough justices heard Anneliese Sanderson had only just been sentenced for attacking four police in Runcorn when she committed her latest offences. The 18-year-old was caught stealing trainers from Wigan Asda and went on to assault a member of the public, two police officers and a paramedic.

The court was told Sanderson, of Allen Road, Runcorn, had already been given a 38-week suspended term by her own town’s justices only the day before for four police assaults, a violent threat and criminal damage. The Wigan bench activated that sentence and add on further custodial terms for the new offences.
