Teenager's face slashed in cowardly robbery

Police are appealing for information after a teenager was assaulted and robbed and left needing plastic surgery for his injuries.

The 18 year old victim was riding his push bike along a path between Birleywood Health Centre and Christ the Servant Church in Skelmersdale at about 10.15pm on Wednesday (October 4th) when he was approached by three men.

The offenders attacked the victim by slashing him across the face before stealing his bike and iphone.

He is being treated in hospital for his injuries which will need plastic surgery.

The offenders are described as three men, aged about 18, wearing dark clothing and possibly balaclavas.

Detective Constable Andy Gill, of Skelmersdale Police, said: “This was a nasty assault which has left a young man with some serious injuries. I would appeal to anyone with information or who saw anything suspicious in the area to get in touch.”
