A flasher who twice exposed himself to shocked members of the public in Wigan has been given a community sentence.

Nathan Whittaker, from Dunham Close in Westhoughton, had entered not guilty pleas to the offences in the borough on May 11 and August 5 in 2018, but was convicted after a trial.

The 29-year-old must now sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for five years.

He was also made the subject of a community order when he was sentenced at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates’ Court.

Whittaker has to participate in a sex offenders’ group work programme, complete 25 days of rehabilitation activity requirements and carry out 200 hours of unpaid work.

He was also ordered to pay £100 in compensation and £350 in court costs.
