The Fiat driver reverse rammed into a police car during a chase in Coppull last night (Thursday, March 18)

It began when officers with Lancashire's Tact Ops spotted a Fiat Punto "in suspicious circumstances" at around 3am.

Officers instructed the Fiat driver to pull over but its driver reverse rammed into the police car before speeding off.

Police gave chase and soon outmanoeuvred the Punto, forcing it to a stop. The driver then tried to flee, this time on foot, but he was swiftly caught and arrested.
