Wigan man charged with possessing more than 1000 indecent images of children

A Wigan man accused of having more than 1,000 indecent images of children will face a judge at the crown court.

John Glynn, of Hawthorn Avenue, Hindley, appeared in the dock to face three charges at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates’ Court.

The 63-year-old is accused of making 347 indecent images of children which were in the most serious Category A.

He is further charged with making 252 Category B indecent images and 565 Category C pictures, all of them involving children.

The offences are all alleged to have taken place in a period between December 2017 and June 2019.

Glynn will now appear at Bolton Crown Court on November 11 after magistrates indicated he should face a trial by jury.

He has yet to enter pleas to the charges, and has been released on unconditional bail.
