Adam Sharratt, 23, of Eton Terrace, Ince, appeared before Wigan justices to admit assaulting Codie Gallagher by beating in July this year.

Justices said that the sustained nature of the attack, the kick and restraint plus the fact that Sharratt has a previous conviction for assault were all aggravating features. He was given a two-month prison sentence, but it was suspended for 12 months.
